Combi-system warm water and heating support

Location: Nothern Germany Meppen

The installed 12.8 m² s-power solar heating system (80 tubes) feeds into an 800 litre solar combi-stratified storage reservoir.

The installed gas condensing boiler heating system is supported by the solar combi-stratified storage reservoir through a classical return flow boost.

The s-power TDC 3 controller monitors the s-power vacuum tube collector system and controls the solar circulation pump in the s-power solar station using a temperature difference controller. The controller additionally monitors the system return flow temperature and the temperature in the solar combi-stratified storage reservoir.

If the temperature in the system return flow is lower than that in the solar combi-stratified storage reservoir then the system return flow is diverted through the solar combi-stratified storage reservoir and routed into the gas condensing boiler heating system using a three way switching valve. The modulating boiler controller then decides how much, if at all, it needs to be additionally heated.

The calculated amortisation period of the solar collector system is 6-7 years.
