Heat pump system with solar support

Location: Nothern Germany , Haselünne

The installed collector system consists of two partial fields, each with 6.4 m² (40 tubes).

The first collector field is mounted on the east roof of the garage and the second collector field is on the west. The return flows of the two collector fields are separated by a three way switching valve so that there is always only one collector field connected to the solar buffer reservoir. The s-power solar controller TDC 3 compares the temperatures in the partial fields with the solar buffer reservoir temperature and directs the respective warmer partial field to the input of the solar buffer reservoir.

The heat pump is connected in the upper third of the solar buffer reservoir. The heating system (radiant) is taken from the highest point of the reservoir. This way the heating pump is only heating the difference between the modulating boiler and the actual temperature in the solar buffer reservoir.

The calculated amortisation period of the installed solar collector system is 5-6 years.

(With an energy price increase of 15% per year)
